Unife has signed the 2023-2025 transformative agreement signed by CRUI's Electronic Resources Area with the publisher Cambridge University Press (CUP). The renewal is under negotiation, but the publisher has confirmed the possibility of publishing open access as early as 2026.
From the university's network, or from a connection outside the Unife LAN using the OpenVPN software, thanks to the CRUI-CUP contract, it is possible to consult the Cambridge Full Collection by accessing the platform Cambridge Core.
For the entire duration of the contract, Unife researchers will also be able to publish with open access in the Hybrid and Gold journals included in the agreement. Information for submitting a contribution to the CUP website.
When publishing with Open Access, the APC (Article Processing Charge) is ascribed to the contract participation cost paid by the university.
The contract defines an Eligible Author for OA requests as someone who, cumulatively:
- is primarily affiliated with an adhering Institution (in the case of articles published by multiple authors, only the submitting author can be considered the Affiliated Author);
- has signed the OA publication agreement;
- has been confirmed as an Affiliated Author by an Institution.
If the corresponding author, i.e. the Unife researcher in charge of submitting the article (it is recommended to always use email address @unife.it), chooses to publish in Open Access, the publication costs (APC) will be charged to the university contract.
The list of «hybrid» and «Gold Open Access» journals included in the CRUI-CUP transformative agreement can be consulted here.
At this URL it is possible to consult all the information on the contract signed by the university, and other information on open access publishing in this publisher's journals.
The number of OA publications is unlimited for three years. Consequently, CRUI has not provided for a pre-established allocation of funds for OA publication in hybrid and Gold journals among the institutions participating in the contract.
The articles considered to be suitable for OA publication are Research Articles, Review Articles, Rapid Communications, Brief Reports, Case Reports.
The clauses of the CRUI-CUP contract can be consulted here.
The licences for each journal are detailed in the ‘hybrid’ and ‘Gold Open Access’ journal file
