Some panels relating to the materials of the Carlo Savonuzzi Archival Collection were exhibited at Ferrara ex-MOF as part of Open Monuments 2018.

The event, organised by the Ferrara OFF Association, featured first and second year primary school students, who illustrated the city's artistic heritage; this edition also saw great success with the public.

School work experience agreement for the creation of the project Stories of books and palaces: tours of the Unife libraries which involved the students of class 3F at the "A. Roiti" Science-specialist High School, Ferrara.

Activities carried out:

• 28 September 2017: presentation of the school work experience project for students at the “A. Roiti” Science-specialist High School (Council Chamber, Palazzo Giordani, Unife Law Department);
• October 2017: library visit and educational meetings on the tools for bibliographical research and the preparation of information sheets (in summarised form for the display boards and in long form for the e-book) on the history of the buildings and internal spaces of particular interest;
• November 2017: presentation of the first draft of the sheets;
• 6 December 2017: seminar on the search for sources and preparation of a bibliography;
• January 2018: second draft of the information in long form, created with the help of the teacher and the reference librarian;
• February 2018: production of video-interviews with the students Students, citizens and tourists...not by chance to document the experience.

The class presented the results of the activity at the inauguration of the Academic Year 2018/19 at U.T.E.F. (University of Continuing Education) with a dedicated lesson (16 October 2018) and guided the visitors during the open day for the locations on the tour (28 October 2018).

For the International Trade Fair for Restoration, Museums and Cultural Enterprises (Ferrara Fiere), the Library System presented theschool work experience project with a talk on the University Library System and Roiti High School: students, citizens and tourists, not by chance..., focusing on the activities carried out with the students and the strategies identified to promote the libraries, ancient book collections and historical palaces of the University of Ferrara.

The event was organised by the University Museum System and Library System, led by Ursula Thun Hohenstein and Michele Pifferi, in collaboration with the "A. Roiti" Science-specialist High School, Ferrara.

To spread awareness of the university's cultural heritage to children aged 7-12, the Library System designed an educational tour for schools and families, through an illustrated storybook-guide written by Luigi Dal Cin: The strange case of Fulgenzio Lenticchia, librarian-assistant-in-practice. The lion, the traveller and the wardrobe of books: the University of Ferrara Library System.

The book tells the story of the palaces, libraries, and library and museum collections in a fantasy setting, accompanied by illustrations by Veronica Ruffato; short passages of the story are featured on permanent display boards located at the university's historical sites.

The narration is well-suited to the creation of educational tours for primary schools and middle schools.

The publication is part of the project Stories of books and palaces: tours of the Unife libraries.
