The University of Ferrara participated in the campaign #laculturanonsiferma promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Institute for Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage. The initiative offered people the opportunity to follow the cultural offer of our region, which was temporarily suspended due to the COVID emergency, using the digital platform Lepida TV on digital TV channel 118. During the programme, the video City of paper | City of stone - The professional archive of Carlo Savonuzzi was shown, created by the University Library System in collaboration with the University of Ferrara Architecture Department and the Emilia-Romagna Archival and Bibliographical Superintendency, and produced with the University of Ferrara Centre for Technologies for Communication, Innovation and Distance Learning.
The video illustrates the activities for protection and promotion performed on the papers from the archive of architect and engineer Carlo Savonuzzi, who practised his profession in Ferrara from 1922 to 1965, designing some of the most important public buildings in the city and contributing to the transformation of the urban landscape.

Stories of books and palaces. Processes for inclusion (Palazzo Trotti-Mosti, Law Department Auditorium). The University Library System presented a new phase of the project Stories of books and palaces: tours of the Unife libraries for the promotion of cultural heritage, with tools to facilitate inclusion and integration for all audiences:

  • 32 videos in Italian Sign Language (LIS), enriched with a wide selection of images, subtitled and accompanied by a voiceover narration;
  • a digital collection with in-depth texts and many historical images recovered from public and private archives;
  • the Tourer.it interactive map, created by the MiBACT Regional Secretariat for Emilia-Romagna, to make the information on the architectural heritage spread across the regional territory easily accessible.
The project, which was one of the first in this area within the Italian university sector, was created thanks to the collaboration of the Unife Coordination of Equal Opportunities and Disability Policies, the se@ (Centre for Technologies for Communication, Innovation and Distance Learning), AIDUS (the Association for the Inclusion of Hearing and Deaf People) and the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism for Emilia-Romagna.
