The collection is made up of a little over 150 volumes, published between the 18th century and the 1920s, most of which were donated to the library or purchased on recommendation from lecturers in humanities subjects based on teaching and research requirements.
The topics cover primarily philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, literature - in particular theatre - and music; the most represented foreign languages are French and German, as exemplified in the 17 volumes of the Cours d'étude pour l'instruction des jeunes gens di Condillac (Paris, Dufart, 1797-1798) and the Richard Strauss opera Der Rosenkavalier: komödie für Musik in drei Aufzügen (geschichtlich, szenisch [...] von Max Chop. Leipzig, Reclam jun., 1911).
There are also many publications in Italian, including reference books in numerous volumes, such as the Biblioteca italiana ossia Notizia de' libri rari italiani divisa in quattro parti cioé istoria, poesia, prose, arti e scienze by Nicola Francesco Haym (Milan, Giovanni Silvestri, 1803) and an almost complete edition in 65 volumes of the Biografia universale antica e moderna ossia Storia per alfabeto della vita pubblica e privata di tutte le persone che si distinsero per opere, azioni, talenti, virtu e delitti (Venice, Gio. Battista Missiaglia, from the Alvisopoli press, 1822-1831).
The collection is found in the Literature and Philosophy Library, in Palazzo Tassoni-Mirogli.
