The Library System aims to pursue the Public Value of the university through the implementation of various strategies, and with the collaboration of partners internal and external to the university; all this is in the context of the Integrated Plan for Activities and Organisation (PIAO) 2023-2025 for the University of Ferrara (mission on the basis of mandate 13. Heritage, Libraries and Cultural Activities, VP 13) and the UN 2030 Agenda Goals for Sustainable Development.

Increase the bibliographical resources available, including digital resources (VP 13.5)
Activate or renew contracts for access to bibliographical indexes and electronic resource packages requested by Unife lecturers and complete the configuration of the ERM (Electronic Resource Management) to optimise the management of and access to the electronic resources subscribed to.

Create collaborations with degree programmes to ensure the participation of students in projects to promote the history and science of the cultural heritage (VP 13.7)
2022/2023 - distribution of two types of questionnaires to evaluate impact on partners that have collaborated with the project Stories of books and palaces: tours of the Unife libraries and the viewers of the Videos in LIS (Italian Sign Language). The analysis of the data collected for scientific research will allow us to improve the quality of the cultural service offered by the University of Ferrara Library System, and increase the services offered in preparation for the opening of more historical university facilities.
2023 - connected to the virtual exhibition under preparation, "Masters of law. Jurists from the Este Court to Europe", the UNIFE students on the History of Criminal Law course, followed by Professor Michele Pifferi, are working to prepare the bibliography attached to the exhibition.
Open Access and Open Science
With the goal of increasing and improving knowledge of and support forOpen Access and Open Science at Unife, building a systematic, organised approach at a university level in order to oversee all aspects of the system and encourage its widespread use among Unife researchers.
With this aim, a working group has been established with DDG (also including staff from the Libraries Division), which has been given the task of developing the following project areas:
- Revision of the University Open Access Policy (OA)
- Data collection on the publication of OA products and data
- Creation of a single university site for OA
- Open Science: identification of a platform for the publication of research data
- Internal communication for the spread and use of OA
