The University Library System (ULS), in cooperation with the Office for the Coordination of Inclusion Policies and the Office for Teacher Training and International Training, promotes an inclusive culture through library services and cultural programmes, in line with the Statute ( art. 7 Quality of university life) and the University's Strategic Plan.

Unife facilitates the right to individual study for people deprived of their personal freedom.The University Library System participates in the RE-Inclusi project to facilitate access to bibliographic resources for students deprived of their personal freedom.In collaboration with colleagues from the Teacher Training and International Training Office, the ULS is responsible for purchasing and cataloguing exam texts for the courses enrolled in by students at the Ferrara Prison University Centre.
An automated lending procedure is currently being tested using the SebinaNext management system, which also includes the placement and printing of labels for purchased books.

As part of the project Stories of books and palaces: itineraries through the libraries of Unife targeted strategies were adopted to include different audiences, including those with disabilities, such as web pages dedicated to the history of the sites containing information about their accessibility; virtual tours through the free MIX-AR eXperience app (App user Manual.pdf) which allows access via mobile devices to a selection of content published on the information totems and, by scanning the NFC sensors present, allows access to audio content; making of 32 videos with translation into LIS (Italian Sign Language) subtitled, with voiceover and extensive image gallery.
