History in brief
Established in 1992 as the Architectural Institute's Library, it is located inside Palazzo Tassoni's complex, location of the Faculty, inside Ferrara's historical centre. The Library is dedicated to the architect Mario Zaffagnini whom together with professors Paolo Ceccarelli e Carlo Melograni was part of the Technical Committee who established the University's degree course of Architecture in Ferrara.
Today the Library provides its documentary heritage not only towards the University's community, but also to Ferrara's citizens entirely.
Collection
The Library owns  periodicals and monographs in the following disciplines: computer graphics, math, physics, applied physics, civil engineering, building science, building technology, technical drawing, industrial design, history of art, urban planning, landscaping, architecture, architectural restoration, architectural structures.
A special section of the library collects degree theses produced by students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara from 1997 until now.
Since October 2016, the Library has also been managing the "Carlo Savonuzzi" Archival Fund.
